I have a Nikon cool pix P80 camera wih 18x optical zoom. I bought it cause i figure it has some cool features but i really want to know how to focus on only the person in the picture and make the backround blurry. I want to know how to do that any help?

I am looking at the following NIKON Cameras to get;
D40
D40x
D60
D70
I use to have a Nikon D80, and I loved it.
I just really dont know how to tell the differences and what not, what would you suggest?
I usually shoot concerts, and night landscapes.
