<description>I would suggest the Nikon D5000, specifically if you haven&#039;t owned a SLR camera before. Its easy to set and adjust in manual settings. also most all Nikon accessory are adapted for the d5000.
I own a d300 and i adore it but i wouldn&#039;t suggest you get a something that high for the reason that everything is adjusted manually and there are no auto features other then focus.
i best advise you get it from best buy, with body and 18-55 lens (or around that) because they offer the best packages price and quality wise.</description>

<description>If you are considering buying a Entry- level DSLR then go for
Nikon D5000 12.3 MP DX Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR Lens and 2.7-inch Vari-angle LCD
# D-Movie Mode with sound; record 720p HD movie clips
# Live View with contrast-detect AF, face detection and subject tracking
# Image sensor cleaning (sensor shake)
# 11 AF points (with 3D tracking)
# IS0 200-3200 range (100-6400 expanded)
# 4 frames per second continuous shooting

Another good option is Nikon D90
Nikon D90 DX 12.3MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED AF-S VR DX Nikkor Zoom Lens
# 3.0-inch 920,000 pixel (VGA x 3 colors) TFT-LCD
# Live View with contrast-detect AF, face detection
# Image sensor cleaning (sensor shake)
# Movie capture at up to 1280 x 720 (720p) 24 fps with mono sound
# IS0 200-3200 range (100-6400 expanded)
# 4.5 frames per second continuous shooting
# 3D tracking AF (11 point)

And if you are considering buying a point and shoot camera then can consider
Nikon Coolpix P90 12.1MP Digital Camera with 24x Wide Angle Optical Vibration Reduction (VR) Zoom and 3 inch Tilt LCD

<description>Are you looking for Digital SLR camera or point &amp; shoot.

if you want Digital SLR, I would recommend Nikon D90, a great camera.
- Great sensor, amazing colors out of the camera
- Auto D-lighting to restore shadowed regions
- Feels great in hand, very comfortable to hold... lighter than a Canon 40d/50d.
- The optical viewfinder is bright and big, with great coverage
- AF tracking points are easy to spot and switch to
- Great 320K dots LCD

but if you want point &amp; shoot then Nikon P90 with great zoom is a good choice or waiting for new one with better zoom and can take HD video Nikon P100. It will be out soon.

		<description>Here the 3 Nikons I recommend:

Nikon D3000 10MP DSLR Digital Camera with 18-55mm VR Lens - $449

Nikon D5000 12MP DSLR Digital Camera w/18-55mm VR Lens - $670

Nikon D90 12MP DSLR Digital Camera w/18-105mm VR Lens - $1030

Below, I listed some links, the first link listed below is to a web page that lists the 3 DSLR cameras I am recommending. This list will let you compare features and specs, also it has links to reviews of the cameras, the reviews include sample images from the cameras. Also I included some links to some dealers so that you can try and get the best price. Three of the sellers I list below have customer reviews of equipement which could prove to be informative.

Hope this helps.
